Renaud Laune

Founder and Managing Director

Renaud founded H-Research Asia in 2015 and leads all client projects, bringing over 20 years of healthcare research and consulting experience across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the United States.

He has held senior leadership roles at major research agencies and has personally conducted hundreds of interviews with healthcare professionals, payers, and government officials across the region. His academic background in statistics and economics, combined with formal training in market access (EMAUD) and an MBA in Marketing, enables him to bridge clinical complexity with commercial strategy.

Renaud works with a core team of research professionals based across Asia-Pacific, each bringing deep market knowledge and established healthcare networks.

Why H-Research Asia was founded

For years, Renaud worked at established research agencies in the US, UK, and Singapore, involved in every stage of client projects—from understanding business questions to conducting fieldwork to presenting recommendations.

As agencies consolidated and grew, projects became compartmentalized. Different teams handled proposals, design, fieldwork, analysis, and reporting. This improved efficiency but created a problem: insight got diluted at every handoff.

The person presenting findings hadn’t conducted the interviews. The analyst interpreting data hadn’t been in the room with clinicians. Context that shapes interpretation disappeared.

H-Research Asia was founded to work differently: researchers involved from start to finish, with no handoffs and no dilution.
